Ninth SHG State Conference – Path towards Self-Reliance

The Annual State Conference of SHG representative was held this year in the Stadium Maidan, Nabadwip, Nadia from 5th to 7th February, 2010. The three day long conference was attended by over 3000 participants from different districts of West Bengal. The slogan was ' ' or “ Self Help Group and Self-Reliance”. “Swanirvar Dal O Sakhsamata” (SHG and Empowerment)

B. Development Discussions on: (1) “SHG and SHG based organizations”; (2) SHG and Financial Literacy”; (3) “SHG and Rights of Women”; (4) “Synergy between SHG and PRIs”.

C. Capacity Building Sessions on: (1) Legal Literacy for women; (2) Financial Literacy; and (3) SHG and Development.

III. Four Knowledge Kiosks on: (a) Financial Services, (b) Legal literacy  
     (c) Government Schemes and (d) Livelihood
