SHG Promotional Forum aims to improve the operative environment for SGH based development approach. The major thrusts are on the improvement
of the operating environment fo MF at state, regional and national level by addressing regulatory, policy and procedural constraints, to:
 strengthen existing & new networks / forums promoting ebnabling environment
address policy issues: identification of constraints, creating awareness/influencing campaigns and effecting changes, dissemination of information.
In order to making Micro Finance more effective for the life and livelihood of poor women, Forum also aims to place Micro Finance in the overall context of development through a process of dissemination,
creating voice and enhancing the negotiating capacity of the target communities.
Objectives
 To create an enabling environment of promotion and growth of self-help groups and MFIs
To promote a strong network within the SHG promoters in West Bengal for Self Help Groups and Self Employment
To collect and disseminate information, sharing of experiences on Micro Savings, Micro credit, Micro Insurance inside and outside the state and the country
To undertake research work on Micro Finance and other social and economic importance
To Publish journals, research studies and also to develop a Library on the related subject
To support and develop marketing strategies and outlets for the products of SHG members
To assume the role on advocacy, lobbying for appropriate legislative changes for proper functioning of MFIs and women empowerment issues.
